Maan was in search of peace Today what happened was not expected and his skin was burning with a female touch. He never knew that his body could’ve reacted this way with an unknown touch as if everything just belonged to Geet only and he felt responsible for a cheating. He wanted her to hold him at the same place. His body was aching to feel her, wanted her to comfort him. He reached near pond because no place had imprinted her aura. Even knowing she wouldn’t be there he felt as if her impressions were there and was enough to ease him.
But he was wrong!
Nothing could soothe him. Neither her remembrance nor her illusion. His heart was still restless. It was burning in flames of strange desires. He needed something urgently which could be able to cool him.
He removed his shirt and jumped off into water. He swum far in madness, in insanity. This water was the only thing belonged to Geet and somehow, after some time, he felt the tension was melting down. He felt relieved. Maan now lessened down the speed. He laid over waves facing uncountable of stars up which were staring him same way. He closed eyes feeling peaceful when pure breeze stroked his skin.
“Geet” He whispered.
Suddenly he found something soft touched his head covering his face. He opened eyes to check what it was and found a silky scarf was floating around his body. He knew this smell. “It is of Geet?” He looked around. He swum around restlessly but couldn’t find anyone. An unknown fear possessed his heart. He remembered about his dream where she was in danger.
“Why her Dupatta is here? Floating on water?” He was suspicious.
He was restless!
Geet!!!!” More loudly he cried.
He could not restrain himself. Unknown fear fell upon his heart and mind. He started swimming here and there in tension in search of her, he was going crazy. Something went wrong with his Geet, this thought began to tear him apart. He had called her here. It was his wish. She did not want to come here alone. She was afraid. She is innocent, but I forced him,
“Its all my fault” The hurt was not tolerable. He only wanted to know if she was fine?
“What should I do? Where should I go finding you Geet? it’s all my fault. All because of me, if anything happens to you, I shall never forgive myself”
A long time had passed. Maan was lost, and was very tired. Eventually, tightly glued her scarf against his chest, badly defeated he came out of the water. His body had become hollow. Long enough, standing on the edge, he tried to find her reflection in the water, but failed. His naked and wet body was shivering in the cold night. His breaths were fast. The night was dark and has much deeper. Maybe in a few hours the light was going to happen. But Maan was not concerned with the darkness and the light game. He had become cold.
Suddenly he remembered, he knew her address. “Maybe she will be in her home? Will be sleeping comfortably in her soft bed?” Assuming this thought Maan was ecstatic. As like his lost vigor came back again. “I should go her house and check” He decided.
He quickly worn his shirt. He run to the car and started driving toward Noor’s home, thinking it is the home of her Geet. He was desperate to see her. Stopping in front of the house, he had mustered his lost courage. There was no one around. Everyone was sleeping. His heart was beating like a thief. However, to see his love, he was desperate. He couldn’t decide how to go inside. He did not want to steal like a thief, thinking his act would bother his love. He thought to wait there until could get her one glimpse as it was going to sunrise very soon.
Maan kept waiting there. Its morning now, but he could not get a glimpse of Geet. His mind was restless. Like a living corpse, he was waiting for his life. Suddenly, the window opened upstairs. His anxiety increased, probably will see her. But she was Noor.
Noor saw Maan. Seeing a stranger, she took off the window. Maan discomfort increased. Many times, he reached the door. Very often tried to knock the door, but returned. If someone ask his identity, what he will answer? His life had been completely forgotten. He only had to see Geet.
The afternoon was over. Maan became the extent of waiting, now. Suddenly he saw Noor coming out. Quickly, he ran to her..
“Listen” Maan called from behind. Noor stopped.
Maan did not know, how to express his anxiety. His nervousness was making his mouth shut. Yet he started. “How is Geet. Is she okay? ”
Noor was confused. He saw Maan with piercing doubt. “What?”
“Geet, is she alright?”
Maan shook his head.
“But, why you asking?”
Maan could not answer. He then repeated the question.
“I do not know,” Noor had to go from there. When Maan stopped her way. Noor panicked but Maan controlled his anger.
“Please,” he said softly. “I just want to know if Geet is at home or not? Please ”
“But, how can I know?” Noor replied.
“She lives here, right? “Maan discomfort has increased when Noor shake her head in “No”
“Why would she be here? This is my home and she is just my friend ”
“Where is Geet then?”
Noor was quiet. She could not understand anything. Why a stranger was bothering about Geet?
“I need to know her place,” he said aloud, this time. There was fire in his eyes.
Noor panicked. She wanted to run away from there.
“Where is Geet?” Maan again Questioned. He had been broken.
“If you do not tell her address, I will give up my life in front of your house !!”
Noor stopped. Her breaths were fast and nervous. She looked him flustered. She observed his eyes were begging for truth. But she was confused.
“Should she tell her address? “Noor could not decide.
“I can’t without asking her…”
She even could not do her words complete, when his red, tired, but unaided eyes begged her.
Eventually she told Geet address.
